The RIESTER Foundation has provided funding to the Southern California Starr Ranch, Audubon Society, for restoration and research. The grant was used for the restoration of approximately 6 acres of coastal sage scrub and to survey the nesting of the indigenous California Gnatcatcher and the Coastal Cactus Wren in the coastal sage scrub at Starr Ranch in the spring of 2008.
